Scania has improved their internal communication all over the world

The challenge

Scania is a global company and needs to communicate and share information with staff all over the world. Scania has more than 100 global sites and local intranets. The information is spread globally but it was stored in a on prem solution in Södertälje, Sweden. This on prem solution was lacking in performance and was also expensive due to high server costs.

The solution

To increase performance and cut costs Scania chose to implement a cloud-based AWS (Amazon Web Services) solution. Findwise helped Scania in the migration project where data from 15 sources was collected and pushed to the cloud. With the new AWS based solution Scania has managed to cut processing bottlenecks, cut costs for on prem servers and have consistently high performance all over the world.

Result

Being a global company, Scania has aimed at creating internal information channels that are both global and local. To make sure that employees get centrally distributed information, without middle hands, and in an efficient way has been an important part of this strategy. The technical solution with a cloud-based infrastructure has been an enabler achieving this.
