Tieto Austria developed and implemented an integrated resource planning application incorporating all parts of business management
The old resource planning application used by the Austrian Post (Österreichische Post AG), was running at its limits, as it incorporated entities like the planning of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flows and financing. Strong delays were a massive shortcoming of the outdated system. To tackle this challenge, the Board of Management of Post AG therefore decided on a comprehensive redesign of the existing solution to support management decisions with the latest technology.
Tieto developed and implemented an integrated planning application on SAP BW IP, a solution mapping the complete business management planning. The result was a significant acceleration of centralized and decentralized planning processes and an improvement in their transparency.
Österreichische Post AG is the country's leading logistics and postal service provider. Its main business areas include the carriage of letters, advertising mail, print media and parcels.
With the new application, Tieto enables much shorter planning sequences as well as more efficient target and premise definition prior to planning.
The new solution enabled a complete integration of the value chain, a system-supported determination of balance sheets and cash flows, and a standardization of personnel planning.
The user-friendliness of the application was optimized by a consistent look and feel, a role-based menu navigation, as well as ensuring the consistency of the planning via derivation rules.
